ANDY WARHOL Leader in pop art visual art movement Mainly a painter, printmaker and filmmaker Also a successful commercial illustrator and record producer, Intellectual and celebrity. Went to the School of Fine Arts at Carnegie Institute of Technology to study commercial art. Also involved in magazine illustration and advertising later on in his life.

Marilyn Prints Marilyn Monroe was a huge pop icon of the 50’s and 60’s When she died in 1962, Andy Warhol decided to create this and other pieces. These images were made by the process of screen printing. He used photo-stencils of photographic images taken by a photographer in the 50’s.
