Local Ecology – If you are not from the prairie…. Inspired by David Bouchard If you’re not from the prairie, You don’t know the sun, You can’t know the sun. Diamonds that bounce off crisp winter snow, Warm waters in dugouts and lakes that we know. The sun is our friend from when we are young, A child of the prairie is part of the sun. If you’re not from the prairie, You don’t know the sun.

If you are not from …… you don’t know …… You can’t know …… Write a poem about your place. The place that you described in – “My Own Secret Place” Describe something…… Living (once living) Non-Living That you would remember your place by If you are not from …… you don’t know …… You can’t know ……

Additional questions to think about…… If 3 people could join you at your “place” – who would you invite? Why? How long would you stay? What would you do while you are at your place? Why? Imagine that you build something together….. What would you build? What would it tell the world about you?
