Important Landmarks of Africa Pyramids - the pyramids were built by the Egyptians. They were used as tombs for their Pharaohs or Kings. The pyramids used to have treasures inside. No one knows how the pyramids were built for sure. The Great Mosque of Djenné - it is the largest mud brick building in the world. The mosque is located near the Bani River.
