Introduction The LeanDex™ Transportation Index is an aggregation of shipper and carrier market transactions for dry van and refrigerated shipments across North America. Unlike other transportation industry indices, the LeanDex™ tracks transportation rates throughout the LeanLogistics network; truckload as well as LTL, and serves as a basis for Procurement Events and for developing collaborative solutions through GreenLanes™. With national coverage of all market lanes used by 51,000 shippers, suppliers and trading partners interacting with thousands of carriers, LeanDex™ provides an accurate, real world window into the North American transportation market.

Introduction LeanDex™ is calculated using a proprietary algorithm that takes into consideration multiple factors including rate, rate variance, capacity constraints, surplus and deficit market conditions, and many other factors. The rate index is a weekly adjusted calculation, whereas competitive products could be as much as 3 months in arrears. This allows a more accurate real time view of the rate index and trending on any given lane. Benchmark Compare actual rates vs. routing guide and with the average rates on any lane. Analyze impact of first and second tender acceptance and actual rate. Determine lanes, regions and shipments out of compliance. Network Data from the Cloud Based on actual tendered and accepted rates without shipper or carrier identification. Associative and Clustering Identify synergistic lanes for both shipper and carrier based on density and financial alignment. Supply Chain Analytics Analyze “what if” national distribution networks and the true cost of market service. Determine market and geographic areas having capacity and demand imbalances.

Rate Inquiries The LeanDex Rate Trend provides a visual reference of how the index is trending over the past year for the specified lane. Please note that lanes under 100 miles are not indexed. The map will display the route that was used for this lane.

Bulk Rate Inquiries For analysis of multiple lanes, users can use spreadsheets to upload lanes and download calculated rates.

Bulk Rate Inquiries To download a blank template file: Click “Generate Blank File.” Click “Download Blank File.” Save file to your computer. File is in Microsoft Excel 97-2003 format.

Bulk Rate Inquiries Fill in the following fields: Period (select from drop-down) Origin Zip Destination Zip Equipment Type (select from drop-down)

Bulk Rate Inquiries Uploading the completed spreadsheet: Click on “Upload Inquiry File.” Browse computer for template file. Enter description. Click Upload.

7/23/2018 Bulk Rate Inquiries Once a file is uploaded, it can be deleted or used to calculate rates currently or again in the future with new periods of data.

Bulk Rate Inquiries The downloaded file will show the mileage, base and cpm index rates for each lane.
