Cooperation among Arab gulf states Grade 8

Why we need cooperation Because most of the Arab gulf states are small in both area and population. By mutual assistance ,co-operation and unity states will be much stronger because if they stand together they shall be greater in population and land area and will face and defeat all aggressors. The development of the use of agricultural livestock,mineral and industrial wealth and self sufficiency in foodstuff and manufactured products instead of beind dependent on others for basic needs. Progress in all fields such as education ,public health, construction ,military planning

Economic cooperation In past people used to earn their living by working in different trades and mercantile shipping. Success in trade was result of their cooperation and mutual commitment. Worked as pearl divers and the crew members came from all seven Arab gulf states. Co-operation and solidarity between the people of the Arab gulf states has come as result of their common origin ,kinship and solid ties of friendship. Discovery of oil in Arab gulf states has brought deep changes in industry thus many agreements were signed . Unified economic agreement was signed in Riyadh ,Saudi Arabia

Educational and cultural cooperation It aims at to agree promoting knowledge and eradicating illiteracy The ministers of education in the arab gulf states meet once every 2 years to agree the basis of educational projects. Development of educational methods and processes in line with latest innovations . Scholarships granted to students from other arab gulf states to study at schools and universities Exchange of students visits during school holidays which promote understanding and strengthening friendship.

Cooperation in cultural fields Holds periodic meetings for the ministers of information to design and agree projects that would improve the information and cultural aspects. AGCC joint programme production establishment headquarter in Kuwait. Presents TV and radio joint programmes dealing with some problems encountered by the gulf people. Gulf news agency in Manama, Bahrain.

Medical cooperation Aims at fighting diseases and promotes health awareness among citizens. Health ministers in the Arab gulf states hold meetings to discuss and agree on ways of achieving medical cooperation . Establishment of Health general secretariat in Riyadh 1976 which has been involved in : Organizing Haj Pilgrimage health missions Conducting research work on drinking waters and maintain control over food and medicine quality. Promoting health awareness among citizens of the Arab gulf states . Fighting against diseases in gulf area.

Political cooperation It unifies stand on world political affairs. These stands include : The Palestinian cause The Zionist invasion of Lebanon The Iraqi-Iranian war The Muslim people of Afghanistan The racial segregation in south Africa Military cooperation between the Arab gulf states has made them a major power capable of facing and defeating all foreign aggression.

Aspects of military cooperation Joint military exercises that were known as peninsula shield no.1 and peninsula shield no.2 Citizens of any Arab gulf state can be admitted into military and police academics in any other Arab gulf state. Exchange of visits by high ranking officers and army commanders in the arab gulf state in order to have wider cooperation and consultation in security fields. The establishment of a joint military force that represents all member states of the AGCC . This force has a joint command authorized to immediately take action in case of external aggression .

Cooperation council for the arab gulf states AGCC Promoting and boosting mutual cooperation among member states in various fields. Approving joint projects whether economic ,educational, cultural industrial information, political, military etc. which are designed to bring prosperity .

Cooperation with Arab world The Arab gulf states cooperate and coordinate with the other Arab states in many political , economic, social and military fields. Cooperation between Arab gulf states and Islamic countries The Arab gulf states offered Islamic world with financial aid, for promoting educational and cultural cooperation through scholarships offered tos tudents of Islamic countries to study in arab schools and universities.

Cooperation between Arab gulf states and the rest of the world They are members of United nations and take part in economic ,scientific, cultural an social fields and advocate world peace.
