The Hunger Games Suzanne Collins HR Hipp 6- Katniss is chased up a tree by other tributes, they decide to wait until she comes down to kill her. They all go to sleep for the night. Katniss awaked by a girl named Rue trying to show her the wasps nest beside her. The wasps can kill you in a few stings. She cuts the branch it was hanging from, sending the hive down to the tributes, killing all of them sleeping. Climax- Katniss lifts poisonous barriers close to killing her and Peeta, when the announcer comes through the arena and tells them the best news that the two needed to hear. 5-Katniss wakes up on the third day of the Hunger Games, but awakes to a wall of fire heading her way. She runs away from the fire and soon escapes from it, but badly injured. 4- The Hunger Games begin. In the beginning of the games, she nearly gets killed with a knife. For the night, she sleeps in a tree, and watches Peeta kill a tribute that was near her. She realizes Peeta is an alliance with other tributes. Katniss finds Peeta injured. She risks her life to go get medicine but almost dies. A rule has changed that only 1 tribute could win. It’s just Peeta, Katniss and another tribute. It comes down to the Gamemakers sending wild dogs to kill the tribute. The dogs get the other tribute. Resolution- Katniss and Peeta get out of the arena alive and reunite with their famiies. Prim is happy that her sister did not die in the games. 3- Katniss is the last tribute to go to a private session with the Gamemakers that is private. She picks up a bow, and shoots at a target that was given. Missed the entire thing. The Gamemakers didn’t pay attention after that. Katniss gets mad since she hits the target in the dead center of the target but the Gamemakers weren’t paying attention. She shoots an apple that was hanging out of a pig’s mouth that the Gamemakers had on their stage. Then she leaves without being dismissed. 9-Katniss goes looking for Rue. She comes upon her dead body then sees a career that killed her. She kills the career, covers Rue in flowers, then goes to bed. 2-Katniss and Peeta arrive at the Capitol where they will be revealed as tributes in the Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta will show themselves on fire, that doesn’t hurt them. Everybody watching loved that outfits. 8- Katniss destroys the food supply by shooting an apple, setting off mines that tributes set. 1-Prim’s name gets called at the reaping. Katniss stands up and volunteers to be a tribute since she is older than her sister and wants to protect her. Characters-Katniss Everdeen, Primrose Everdeen, Peeta Mellmark, Gale Hawthrone, Haymitch, President Coriolanus Snow Setting- a country named Panem that rose when North America went through droughts, wars, fires, and other disasters Conflicts-I- Katniss is scared that she will not be able to win the Hunger Games and get back to her family and friends back in district 12. E-Katniss fights the other 23 tributes in a fight-to-the-death battle. Exposition- Katniss Everdeen chases her sisters looking for their warmth. She comes around a corner and finds her hugging their mom tight. Prim, a little sister of Katniss’s, is afraid that her name will be picked in the bowl in contestants for the Hunger Games. Katniss tells her not to worry. Before the family knew it, the reaping was here. 7- Katniss picks up a bow from a dead tribute. She is feeling disy from some stings from the wasps. She walks away from the scene then faints. She awakes to see Rue sitting beside her. HR Hipp
