Defination of circle A Circle is the locus of points in a plane which are at constant distance from a fix point in that plane

Points Name of the points In the interior POINT-D,P,O,X In the exterior POINT- M,A,B On the circle POINT-R,N,Q

DEFINATION OF CIRCULAR REGION UNION OF CIRCLE AND IT’S INTERIOR IS CALLED CIRCULAR REGION. P

Circle geometry Terminology The following terms are regularly used when referring to circles: Arc — a portion of the circumference of a circle. Chord — a straight line joining the ends of an arc. Circumference — the perimeter or boundary line of a circle. Radius (r) — any straight line from the center of the circle to a point on the circumference. Diameter — a special chord that passes through the center of the circle. A diameter is a straight line segment from one point on the circumference to another point on the circumference that passes through the center of the circle. Segment — part of the circle that is cut off by a chord. A chord divides a circle into two segments. Tangent — a straight line that makes contact with a circle at only one point on the circumference.

PROPERTIES OF CIRCLE THERE IS ONE AND ONLY ONE CIRCLE PASSING THROUGH THREE NON COLLINEAR POINTS. 1 THE PERPENDICULAR DRAWN FROM CENTRE OF CIRCLE TO CHORD BISECTS THE CHORD. 2 CONGRUET CHORDS OF CONGRUENT CIRCLES ARE EQUIDISTANT FROM THE CENTRE 3
