Romeo and Juliet Act IV
Act IV, Scene 1: Friar Laurence’s cell Juliet tells Friar Laurence that if he has no solution to her problem, she will kill herself. Friar Laurence explains his dangerous plan for Romeo and Juliet to be together.
Act IV, Scene 2: Capulet’s house Juliet tells her father she will marry Paris. Lord Capulet is so relieved he reschedules the wedding for the next day, Wednesday.
Act IV, Scene 3: Juliet’s bedroom Juliet drinks the vial of the drug Friar Laurence has prepared for her after considering all that could go wrong.
Act IV, Scene 4: Capulet’s house It is Wednesday, the day of the wedding. Everyone is making final preparations for the ceremony.
Act IV, Scene 5: Juliet’s bedroom The Nurse goes to wake Juliet up on her wedding day and discovers her in bed, apparently dead. Lord and Lady Capulet, Paris, and the Nurse are overcome with grief. Friar Laurence instructs them to bring Juliet’s body to the Capulet family tomb.
