Why do people use and abuse?  To have fun Boredom Self-medication Peer Pressure They’ve become addicted Curiosity Rebellion Media Modeling parents’ behavior To look and feel “grown-up”

KEY Terms Alcoholics-A chronic disease characterized by uncontrolled drinking and preoccupation with alcohol. Alcoholism-an addiction to the consumption of alcoholic liquor or the mental illness and compulsive behavior resulting from alcohol dependency. Moderate Drinking-up to four alcoholic drinks for men and three for women in any single day Problem Drinking-is using alcohol in a way that can negatively impact your health and your life, but the body is not physically dependent on the substance.
