Where is The Queen Jadwiga School located?

Jerzykowo is a small village located in western part of Poland in the Major Poland region.

Queen Jadwiga School is a new school ( built in 2001), well - equipped and modern.

The school included primary and secondary school.

Classrooms in our school are clear, clean, colourfull and well – equipped. Most of them are equipped with digital interactive boards what students really enjoy. ITC classroom Biology and Geography classroom

Science classroom In this classroom students of our school do physical and chemical experiments during their Science courses. They love it!

Queen Jadwiga the patron of our school Hedwiga of Anjou was born February 15, 1372 and died July 17, 1399 in Krakow. She was the daughter of Louis I the Great, King of Hungary and Poland, and of Elizabeth of Bosnia. She was engaged by her father will at the age of 4 to William of Austria. She inherrited her father in 1382 in Poland, while her sister Mary inherrited the throne of Hungary. Although Jadwiga is now called "the queen," she was crowned as King of Poland - Hedvig Rex Poloniae, not Hedvig Regina Poloniae. The masculine gender emphasized that his title was monarch of full rights, while the title of queen meant only the king's wife. She was well known as a very wise, generous and righteous ruler. She got married on 18 February 1386 in Krakow with Jagiellonian Ladislas II (1351 † 1424), Grand Duke of Lithuania also elected king. She died after childbirth complications four days after his first daughter Elizabeth Bonifacia, was born . Her husband became the only King of Poland. Jadwiga was canonized by Pope John Paul II on 8 June 1997. The young woman spoke several languages​​: Latin, Bosnian, Hungarian, Serbian, Polish and German.

There is a modern gym and playground in our school There is a modern gym and playground in our school. Students play football, basketball and handball there. We often organize tournaments for other schools. Studends train canoeing, rugby and judo in our school sections.

In years 2009 – 2011 our school was taking part in internatrional educational project Comenius.

In February 2010 all the project partners meeting took place in Jerzykowo.
