Business Support Open to all Enterprising Third Sector Organisations seeking to grow through sustainable activities Small scale, targeted consultancy assignments, for example: Business Planning Financial Planning - full cost recovery, pricing Marketing – market research, marketing strategy, website and social media strategy, new service launch

Start Up Support Tailored consultancy support for social entrepreneurs – developing the early stages of an idea into a creative and ambitious social enterprise 1-2-1 Meetings with experienced business advisers Guidance on setting up and running a business and how to balance commercial and social aspects of an idea Practical tools, documents and templates Useful connections to other third sector partners and agencies Tailored business support to those social entrepreneurs progressing to start-up a social enterprises

Start up workshops A range of 2-hour information sessions covering essential aspects of business start up including: introduction to social enterprise, legal structures, business planning, branding & marketing, cash flow planning

Leadership Programmes Learning programmes designed to develop individuals into effective leaders and build management skills which can be applied to real life situations. Using peer support and learning techniques the programmes mirror the challenges faced by social entrepreneurs and senior managers tasked with growing a business.

Procurement Just Enterprise supports social enterprises to become tender ready because: The public sector spends approx. £9Bn on goods and services every year Change from grant and SLA to contract Contraction in other funding sources Transparency in processes, policies & procedures ‘Guaranteed’ payment Opening market

Pre-investment Support For organisations actively considering social investment as a means of financing their organisation’s development and can include: Helping assess investment readiness and the risks and benefits associated with such a move. Identifying social investment options. Development of cash flow forecasts/financial projections. Updating business plans. Assisting with the preparation of any other documentation required to support an application

Supported Businesses Just Enterprise offers individual business support to all BASE members in Scotland, including: Business Health Checks, Tailored business supports, and Collaborative engagements with SE, HIE and Business Gateway.

Eligible applicants Social entrepreneurs with a business idea Existing organisations usually with a recognised social enterprise structure e.g. CLbG, SCIO, Co-op, CICs etc.

Making an application All applications by client via Just Enterprise website allocated a Client Manager will be supported through application process If successful, will be appointed a business adviser to support development work or allocated a place on a learning workshop or programme

Just Enterprise - Unable to support Organisations with closed memberships such as membership organisations where benefits go to and income comes from members e.g. community sports clubs Long term involvement in large scale capital development projects (we can support viability of enterprise aspects in later stages) Early stage community engagement and development work even if it might result in the establishment of a social enterprise

Who else could you refer to Local Third Sector Interface (TSI) especially for funding, legal structure or HR enquiries Social Enterprise Networks (SENS) for peer support and networking Other sector specific support agencies for example DTAS, Community Broadband Scotland, CRNS, Zero Waste Scotland
