Acclaim Noun Enthusiastic Praise We met the runners at the end of the marathon with acclaim.

Cringe Verb To draw back from something painful I cringed as I watched the skier tumble down the slope.

Quandary Noun A difficult situation As we sunk deeper into the quicksand, the elderly English explorer turned to me and said, “This is quite a quandary, eh?”
