Protection Meerkats have sharp teeth and long claws to scratch and bite there predators. A meerkat climbs to the highest rock and if it sees a predator it whistles.

Habitat Meerkats dig burrows in the plains of Southern Africa.

Diet Meerkats like to millipedes, spiders, eat grubs, lizards, snails, roots, ground squirrels, and small rodents.

Description Meerkats have narrow pointed muzzles series of dark stripes crosswise on back. Meerkats black eyes and black ears. Meerkats lower parts of head and body is grizzled in yellowish brown or pale grey.

Interesting Facts Meerkats can dig burrows 10 feet deep. Meerkats have jobs like hunter, teacher and babysitter. Meerkats can live up to 10 years.
