Advanced Battery Management (ABM®) Technology B C Doubles battery service life by charging only when needed Optimizes recharge time Does not trickle charge and starve the electrolyte Intelligent microprocessor controlled - Only true & automatic battery check (periodic, controlled discharge) for most accurate advanced failure protection Sleep Feature - no unnecessary battery “drain” As with all UPSs, batteries are a critical component. ABM Plus is an effective method of extending the overall service life of the UPS.
ABM: 3-Stage Charger 1. Rapid recharge to approximately 90% Restores batteries quickly UPS is ready for next power outage 2. Float charge to 100% Completely charges batteries, but prevents overcharging 3. Rest mode With charger turned off, UPS conducts accurate tests to monitor battery health and provide accurate runtime predictions
Extended Battery Modules (EBMs) Add up to 4 EBMs to extend backup time Each EBM occupies only 3U of rack space Hot-swap capability allows you to increase backup time or replace EBMs while keeping attached equipment up and running Maximum number of EBMs you can connect: 700/1000 VA: 2 EBMs 1250-2000 VA: 4 EBMs A “U” is a standard measurement of vertical rack space. 1U=1.75 inches. 3U
Attaching EBMs Attach EBMs with a simple daisy-chain connection Connection to UPS Both PW9125 24 EBM and PW9125 48 EBM weigh 65 lb/29.5 kg each. Battery Connector for Next EBM EBM
Extended Battery Cabinets (EBC) For battery backup times over two hours, up to 6 EBC240 battery cabinets can be added. UPS with PPDM EBC240

Rack/Tower Form Factor The 6000 VA online UPS can be installed as a tower unit or in a standard 19-inch rack enclosure. Tower Rack
Rack Installation Overview A separate rail kit is required for each module. The rail kit supports the UPS in a 19-inch rack enclosure. Mounting brackets secure the UPS to the rail kit. Left rail for PPDM UPS Mounting Brackets Left rail for PPDM PPDM
Web/SNMP Card The Web/SNMP card allows you to connect your UPS directly to an Ethernet network and the Internet. It allows you to monitor and manage your UPS with a standard web browser and SNMP, while simultaneously providing graceful shutdown for multiple computer systems over the network. Three extra hub ports
Informative User Interface Site Wiring Fault Replace Battery (ABM technology) Self-Test Overtemperature Normal Mode (UPS On) Overload Battery Mode Load Level/ Battery Level Bypass Mode The off button shuts off power to the output receptacles, meaning that it also shuts down the connected equipment. However, to shut off the UPS completely, you must remove the line cord from the wall socket. When the unit is installed, you must press the on button before power is available at the output receptacles. For more information about selecting 100, 110, 120, or 127 Vac, read the User’s Guide. The load level graph displays the amount of load connected to UPS in normal operation and the amount of battery power remaining in battery mode. For the self-test, ABM, site wiring fault, overtemperature, and overload alerts, the corresponding LED flashes. When no alert conditions exist, the LEDs correspond to the load that is connected to the UPS. See the User’s Guide for more details. Alarm Silence/Test Button On Button (Start-On-Battery) Off Button
Hot-swappable Batteries The UPS includes two battery trays that can be easily replaced without shutting down the connected equipment. Quick Replacement Instructions: Remove front panel Remove battery plate Withdraw and replace battery cartridge Battery Trays (62 lb. ea.)
PowerPass Distribution Modules (PPDM) The PPDM is equipped with a maintenance bypass switch so that you can replace the UPS without shutting down the connected equipment. Four different PPDMs offer different output receptacles or hardwired input/output. 3U PPDM Bypass Switch Output Receptacles
