GCSE English Language - Structure of Course 60% Controlled Assessment (written and spoken) – Controlled Assessment deadlines throughout the year. 40% Exams (paper 1 and paper 2). Completed in May.

All students will: Complete a descriptive writing controlled assessment; Complete a narrative writing controlled assessment; Deliver an individual presentation on an interest or hobby. Complete an essay on spoken language using transcripts. Participate in speaking and listening tasks. Read the Shakespeare play ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Complete a character analysis on a character from Romeo and Juliet.
