New Birth Text: John 3:1-8 “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn 3:3 What did we learn from the scripture passage? You can never claim to know it all about God – stay hungry and keep learning God does not hoard knowledge. If you seek, He will give Nicodemus was eager to learn – hence his questions. It is okay to ask God for explanation and revelation There are fundamental spiritual truths that we must receive by revelation as they are beyond human understanding

What was Nicodemus mission? New Birth Text: John 3:1-8 “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn 3:3 What was Nicodemus mission?

New Birth Text: John 3:1-8 What was Nicodemus mission? “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn 3:3 What was Nicodemus mission? He was in search of the truth (v2) He wanted more knowledge of God (vv2&4) He was desirous of reaching the Kingdom of God (vv3&5) He was willing to challenge the authenticity of his own authority in light of greater authority revealed in Jesus

New Birth Text: John 3:1-8 “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn 3:3 What did Jesus respond to Nicodemus the way He did?

New Birth Text: John 3:1-8 “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn 3:3 Why did Jesus respond to Nicodemus the way He did? God is always forthright with sincere and honest people but with the cunning He deals wisely (Jn 1:47;2:24) Jesus is always excited about those who seek eagerly after the things of God (Mk 10:17-21; Matt 5:6) Jesus was on a mission to correct the peverted religion that the Pharisees had trapped His people in (Matt 15:1-9; 16:1-4)

What was Jesus main message to Nicodemus? New Birth Text: John 3:1-8 “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn 3:3 What was Jesus main message to Nicodemus?

New Birth Text: John 3:1-8 What was Jesus main message to Nicodemus? “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn 3:3 What was Jesus main message to Nicodemus? The Kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom and cannot be accessed by carnal doctrines or activities Spiritual things are spiritually discerned (vv5-8) Man’s knowledge of God and His Kingdom is very limited Our access to God’s Kingdom is by grace through faith in Him Who through His sacrifice restored us to Spiritual life

New Birth Text: John 3:1-8 What is the charge to us as believers? “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn 3:3 What is the charge to us as believers? Pursue the things of God as spiritual creatures and not as carnal men (Rom 8:1-8; Mt 6:33) Never get to a point where you feel you have learned all you can about God and His Kingdom (Phil 3:8-14) Seek after knowledge of God and contend for what you believe. Test every Spirit. (Heb 11:6; Jam 1:5; I Thess 5:21; I Jn 4:1-2
