You can never claim to know it all about God – stay hungry and keep learning God does not hoard knowledge. If you seek, He will give Nicodemus was eager to learn – hence his questions. It is okay to ask God for explanation and revelation There are fundamental spiritual truths that we must receive by revelation as they are beyond human understanding

He was in search of the truth (v2) He wanted more knowledge of God (vv2&4) He was desirous of reaching the Kingdom of God (vv3&5) He was willing to challenge the authenticity of his own authority in light of greater authority revealed in Jesus
