Application Form The application form is in 3 Parts with Parts 1 and 2 in Microsoft Word format and Part 3 in Excel Section 1 contains general information about the project. The first page Must be signed by the person responsible in the project Lead Partner organisation.

Part 1 – Section 1: Project Information (1 of 3) Project title not too long Acronym: use a catchy name The project lifetime cannot exceed 3 years You can only apply for funding from ONE priority Project target area should detail the area and location of the project’s activities inside and outside the programme area

Part 1 – Section 1: Project Information (2 of 3) The total project costs provided in this should match those in later parts of the application such as Part 3 of the application Total funding request should match those in Part 3 of the application form Specific funding sources should match those in Part 3 of the application form

Part 1 – Section 1: Project Information (3 of 3) Make sure all that the forms are complete Make sure that all supporting documents are in place The application form has to be signed by a person in the lead partner organisation who will be responsible for accepting the financial liability of that organisation and accepts the full responsibility for the project.

Total and Specific funding sources do not match those in Part 3 of the application form Use the “Document checklist” to ensure all documents are sent when applying

Part 1 – Section 2: Partner Information List all the partners involved List Associated partners that are not part of the formal partnership and funding receivers. Eligible partners: National, regional and local authorities Regional and local development agencies, chambers of commerce Universities, higher education institutions, research centres, colleges Non-governmental/public-like organisations Voluntary sector organisations Other relevant public-like organisations contributing to the development of the programme area Private sector

Part 1 – Section 2: Pitfalls Make ensure the correct mix of transnational partners are in your project. It is crucial to achieving genuine transnational cooperation and successful results All partners should have the capacity and knowledge in the subject area to participate fully and to deliver the products and/or services It is not allowed to create partnerships of a cross-border character i.e. Finland-Sweden-Norway Ireland-Northern Ireland- Scotland Faroe Islands - Greenland-Iceland Where suitable, partnerships should involve a cross-sector of partners from the national, regional and local level. In-eligible partners and partners outside of the programme area – Check with Regional Contact Point

Part 1 – Section 3: Project Content (1 of 2) Synopsis of the project’s aims and objectives should be no more than 500 characters or ¼ of a page. Define the exact goals and objectives of the project and provide an outline of what the projects aims to achieve Describe the project activities and how the different work packages (part 2) all contribute to the overall objective of the project

Part 1 – Section 3: Project Content (2 of 2) Provide background information on the project idea and include information on demand on the product or service. This should be no more than 3000 characters or 1½ pages. Sections 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7 only need to be justified if applicable

Part 1 – Section 3: Pitfalls Synopsis of the project’s aims and objectives is your first chance to get the attention of the reader – Make your message Clear for the reader to make logical connections about your project Define the exact goals and objectives of the project and provide an outline of what the projects aims to achieve – Here is an opportunity to expand on the project Describing the project activities and how the different work packages is important from the readers chair perspective, because they are not you. Write to them, clearly and in easy to read English.
