ARCC Scholarship Program Two scholarship programs Cambridge Campus Foundation Scholarships for students who attend the Cambridge Campus Coon Rapids Campus Foundation Scholarships to students who attend the Coon Rapids Campus

ARCC Scholarship Program Two campuses – One scholarship application Several scholarships are available? There were 229 Scholarship Applications received in 2016-2017. Of those applicants how many received a scholarship? 226

Scholarship Process Two cycles to apply: Spring Semester January 15 to February 15 Fall Semester August 15 to September 30 Where do you find the applications? Application (www.anokaramsey.edu/scholarships)

Scholarship Process Scholarships are reviewed by committees made up of faculty, community volunteers and our Foundation Board of Directors Results are returned All students are notified by email Financial Aid is notified of recipients Scholarships are applied to students accounts

Limitations Must be enrolled at Anoka-Ramsey Community College and attend one of the campuses. Cambridge scholarships are intended for Cambridge students. Coon Rapids scholarships are intended for Coon Rapids students. A recipient may be a repeat recipient for no more than three years total.

Tips Request transcripts and letters of recommendation early, you will need to upload these in your online application. Ask questions if the instructions are unclear Read the criteria carefully Follow directions Remember the deadline found at www.AnokaRamsey.edu/Scholarships

Tips Always plan to finalize your application a minimum of 1 week before the deadline. This allows you time to review it carefully, ask questions of office staff, to have the Writing Center look over essays, or to make last minute calls for letters of recommendations and transcripts (if you haven’t received them yet). Don’t undersell yourself Many students don’t realize recognitions of any kind is a big deal! They also forget to include clubs on campus that they are a part of or volunteer activity. Think of this as an interview for employment…What will make you stand out above all the others?

Tips This is one area you should NOT save for last! Read and respond to the essay questions carefully This is one area you should NOT save for last! Stick to what the committee wants to hear, don’t over express yourself…be concise--but not vague Be creative—but not silly (if this is natural) Use good grammar and punctuation Visit the writing tutors to make sure you answered the questions and your writing is clear and free of errors

Questions? If you have technical problems, have questions, we are here to help. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Call: 763-433-1294 E-mail: Lisa.Sisson@AnokaRamsey.edu
