North Basin RI/FS Current Activities: Scope developed in collaboration with USEPA Study area limited in two ways: Specific to offsite groundwater contamination Specific to interim remedy selection Field studies initially including installation of 14 MWs in 8 locations Currently out to bid – bids due on June 22 Estimated start in August – 6 months to complete

Prop 1 Planning Grants RI/FS studies for both the NB and SB projects received preliminary approved at the $1 million cap ($2 million total) OCWD Staff informed by the SWRCB that the planning grant cap is negotiable Based on the availability of additional grant funds the RWQCB has requested that the OCWD consider expanding the scope of the NB RI/FS

North Basin RI/FS Proposed 6 Additional Wells: 4 from EPA: Additional definition of Northern boundary Wells located upgradient of Fullerton’s La Palma wells 2 from RWQCB: Additional data gap wells in eastern upgradient area of the plume. High levels of VOCs detected in one-time groundwater grab samples near former Crucible Material site (closed by DTSC without any groundwater investigation)
