Internal Energy: is the energy contained in a body Internal Energy: is the energy contained in a body. It is the sum of all types of energies possessed by a body. Heat Energy: Heat is that internal energy that transfers from one object to another object due to the temperature difference between them.
Thermal Expansion: Thermal means heat Thermal Expansion: Thermal means heat. The increase in size of the substance when heated is called thermal expansion. There are two types of thermal expansion. Linear thermal expansion Volumetric thermal expansion
Linear Expansion: The increase in the length of a substance on heating is called Linear expansion Volumetric Expansion: The increase in the volume of a substance on heating is called volumetric expansion.
Boyles Law: For a given mass of a gas, the volume of a gas in inversely proportional to the pressure of the gas if temperature is kept constant. Charles law: For a given mass of a gas, the volume of a gas in directly proportional to the absolute temperature of the gas if pressure is kept constant.
