The History of polish national independence day

History Polish national independence day is celebrated on November 11 to commemorate the day when poland regained its independence in 1918.

russian flag prussian flag austrian flag FOR 123 YEARS, UP TO 1918 POLAND WAS UNDER OCCUPATION OF THREE NATIONS: RUSSIA, AUSTRIA, PRUSSIA (GERMANY AT PRESENT). OVER THE 123 YEARS POLAND DID NOT EXIST. DURING PARTITION TIMES POLES COULDN’T USE THEIR LANGUAGE AND THEY COULDN’T MAINTAIN THEIR TRADITIONS AND CUSTOMS. THE OCCUPANTS TRIED TO ERASE THE HISTORY OF POLAND FROM POLES’ CONSCIOUSNESS. POLES, HOWEVER, DIDN’T FORGET ABOUT THEIR ORIGIN AND, DESPITE THE BANS AND OFTEN RISKING THEIR LIVES, THEY SECRETLY USED THE LANGUAGE AND CELEBRATED CHURCH AND PUBLIC FESTIVALS ACCORDING TO POLISH CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS.

During partitions

After partitions After the First World War Poland reappeared on the map of Europe, although its territory was much smaller than 123 years earlier when the country lost its independence.

JÓZEF PIŁSUDSKI JÓZEF PIŁSUDSKI (1867-1935) WAS A GREAT POLISH SOLDIER AND POLITICIAN WHO HELPED THE COUNTRY TO REGAIN ITS INDEPENDENCE.
