International Equipment Reliability Working Group Performance Monitoring sub-group Update from Suzhou meeting 12th-13th Sep 2017

New sub-group formed during Suzhou meeting Excellent participation! 21 members covering UK, Mexico, China, France, Bulgaria, UAE, Korea, Slovakia, Japan & USA

Aims & Objectives Aim: To produce a WANO Performance Monitoring guidance document to help nuclear utilities develop effective Performance Monitoring programmes Objectives of guidance document/sub-group: Purpose of Perf Mon (to pre-empt failure, save PM costs etc) Summarise key available Performance Monitoring techniques Where to apply the techniques (Critical components, safety equipment) Selection of parameters relevant to key Failure Modes Importance of Action limits Importance of Perf Mon organisation and example process flow How to analyse variety of Perf Mon data effectively How to integrate variety of Perf Mon data Need for continuous improvement in Perf Mon (e.g. modern techniques) Collect different approaches to Perf Mon & share good practice examples

Near-term Actions Prepare and circulate questionnaire on current approaches and good practice examples: AGW/All by end Oct 2017 Prepare guidance document outline structure aligned to Objectives AGW by end Oct 2017 Hold telecon to discuss/agree outputs from Actions 1 & 2 and to agree next steps (e.g. who will write which sections of document) All by end Nov 2017
