Psyc 222: Activism: Practice as Therapists Empowerment Practice Written “most important thing you have learned/still hope to learn…”

Empowerment Goals What is the overall goal of therapy across orientations? What allows people to change? What does it mean to have a goal of empowerment? What allows people to create empowering identities?

Empowerment What role does language play in empowerment? What role does context play? What role does activism play? What role can you play in clients’ empowerment?

Practice I am wondering if there is a time in your life when you wished you had more power… What allowed you to overcome that experience or get through that time? OR you can explore… If you could change anything in your life, what would it be? What keeps you stuck? What gives you strength or makes change possible?
