Introduction to ISA The IBM Support Assistant helps you find solutions to your software issues, and provides features and tools that can help you achieve this goal. It has the following highlights: Discover existing solutions and answers for your software issues Search Information: With the flexible search interface in the IBM Support Assistant, you can search a number of different web sites and information centers with just one click. Find product education and training materials Product Information: The product information pages provide you with a page full of useful resources specific to the IBM software you are looking to support. Automate Data Collection and Analysis Assisted Troubleshooting and Guided Problem Analysis Analysis and Troubleshooting tools for IBM products

NetView for z/OS ISA Add-on introduction NetView for z/OS Add-on is an IBM Support Assistant Workbench which you can down load and install on your workstation. It provides the user interface to all the features of the Support Assistant.

NetView ISA Add-on Installation Installation of NetView ISA Add-on requires to phases: Installation of the IBM Support Assistant v4, complimentary software serviceability workbench. http://www-306.ibm.com/software/support/isa/index.html Installation of the NetView ISA Add-on Once the ISA workbench is installed, follow the instruction followed to obtain your NetView for z/OS V5R3 product specific add-on.

NetView ISA Add-on Installation (cont.) You can either type “NetView” into the filter selection box and expand the Tivoli node, or simply expand the Tivoli node. Check the “NetView for z/OS” Add-on to install and choose “Next ->”

NetView ISA Add-on Installation (cont.) Choose “Next -> “ to go to “Tools Add-on to Install”

NetView ISA Add-on Installation (cont.) Accept the terms of the license agreement and choose "next ->”

NetView ISA Add-on Installation (cont.) Choose “Finish ->” to accept all different softwares to be installed

NetView ISA Add-on Installation (cont.) Once the installation completes, choose “YES“ to restart ISA.

What is coming? Log Analysis An ISA tool called Log Analyzer Log Analyzer is a graphical user interface which provides a single point of contact for browsing, analyzing, and correlating logs produced by multiple products. Logs can be imported from IBM Support Assistant's Case and Topology managers. Log Analyzer enables you to import and select symptom catalogs against which log files can be analyzed and correlated.
