AP Goals and Course Objectives Develop accurate, perceptive reading through close study of literary texts representing various literary genres. Acquire a fluent, precise writing style through preparation of numerous essays about the texts. Understand the techniques of poetry as it affects and enhances meaning. Generate independent, thoughtful, and analytical discourse during class discussions. Deliver oral presentations with poise and clarity. Complete all assignments and research in MLA format. Read, write about, and discuss works within and without the evolving literary canon with precision, sensitivity, energy, and imagination.
