Monday Madness 9/18/17 Random drawing Draw a picture of a leaf shade it and make it as realistic as possible!!!

Technique Tuesday 9/19/17 Find an object you can put on your desk (keys, a pencil, ear buds etc.) and draw it in as much detail as you can. Try using gesture lines (quick lines to define the shape)

Work of Art Wednesday 9/20/17 Write down the information, draw a thumbnail of the piece and do full art critique: look back at your notes for help. The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters: Plate 43 of The Caprices (Los Caprichos) Francisco de Goya y Lucientes 1799 Etching, 8 7/16 x 5 7/8 in. Gift of M. Knoedler& Co.

Work of Art Wednesday 9/20/17(Intermediate) Write down the information, draw a thumbnail of the piece and do full art critique: look back at your notes for help. Rene Magritte La Chambre D’Ecoute (The Listening Room) 1952 Oil on Canvas 45cmx55cm Menil Collection, Texas

Theory Thursday 9/21/17 write down the following information next to the drawing you completed on Tuesday Observational drawing: a exercise in seeing. When we look at something with the intent of drawing it, we tend to look more carefully than usual. We see, truly see, the shapes, the patterns, the perspective, the colors, the shadows, the contours, and how all of the details interact. In translating 3D objects to 2D drawings on paper, we practice getting shapes and proportion right, we learn how to show depth with shading, and we try different techniques for showing texture and detail.
