Presentation transcript:

Global Warming R. H.

What is global warming? Over the last 50 years the average temperature has increased very fast in recorded history. All but one of the hottest years in NASA’s 134 year record have occurred since 2000.

What causes Global Warming? Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide and other air gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and reflects off the Earth’s surface

How to prevent global warming? Carbon dioxide is our enemy. It's released when oil, coal, and other fossil fuels are burned for energy. By using less energy to power our homes, cellphones and cars, we can prevent global warming.

Facts About Global Warming (Pictures)

Is the United States doing anything to prevent global warming? Yes! We've started. In order to avoid global warming, we need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and start using clean energy instead. In 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency promised to reduce carbon pollution by our power plants by 2030.

These animals are endangered because of global warming.

Extreme Weather. Global warming causes extreme weather. The odds of droughts have doubled over the past century. It can cause even a category 4 or 5 hurricane because the warmer the weather means that tropical storms can pick up more energy. .

Effects of global warming. Rising temperatures are causing melting glaciers, rising sea levels, destruction of forests habitats and farms, and diseases.
