Radiology – Luis Montalvo Services provided are Nuclear Radiation, Mammography & Breast MRI, Interventional, Ultrasound, CT Scans, etc. Mammography is used to diagnose early stages of breast cancer by using low-dose x-rays. CT Scans take over 200 pictures in just 2-3 seconds. Works closely with Surgery Unit, ER/Trauma, Intensive Care Unit, and Regular Floors. Team members of the department are Nurses, (5-7) Radiologist Technicians, CT Techs, and other supporting staffs. Staffs should enjoy technology to be Radiologist Technician. Schooling for becoming a Radiology Technician is technically two years but is “continuous learning.” Rad. Tech at Hospitals is $18/hour and $20/hour at Mayo Clinics Located in the Franciscan Skemp Mayo Clinic- 2nd Floor.
Orthopedics – Lisa Trublood Services provided are Surgery, Hip & Knee Replacement, Sports Medicine, Fracture Care, ER Injury, cure of Arthritis, etc. Wide range in age, from New-Borns to Over-a-Hundred. Hip & Knee Replacement often occurs with the elderly. Winter time is when the Orthopedic Department is most needed. Works closely with Surgery Unit, Sports Medicine, Radiology Techs., Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Team members are Nurses, Surgeons, MA’s , Social Workers, Joint specialists, Sports Medicine Specialists, Radiology Technicians, etc. Schooling to become a nurse in Orthopedics is 4 years and more. Two extra years of education-training to be a fellowship. Annual Salary is about $81,000 Located on First Floor of Franciscan Skemp Mayo Clinic.
