Q3: Tapping into the expertise of IT staff to create MA courses in Research Computing & IT Cybersecurity Quickly two examples that showcase the technical content IT staff can bring to the campus in a tangible and profitable way: RC and Cybersecurity. Both have value given the relevancy and currency. Both are niche areas that do not command a large audience, but those interested are often passionate.

Challenge: No clear career path for RC professionals No formal educational track Reward system missing Limited career path Solution: Create MA in Research Computing & a formal collaboration between Research Computing & the Libraries Develop and advance data science and digital scholarship through discovery & reuse, management, curation, & preservation, Analysis & visualization Training & education Masters in Research Computing

Certificate in Cybersecurity Challenge: Further develop Cybersecurity track utilizing existing Interdisciplinary Telecom Program Use existing Graduate School structure to minimize administrative hurdles. Tap into existing courses to create certificate program. Solution: In Progress Requires the tenacity and time from IT professionals to make it happen. Need clear rewards structure. Need new models to generate cost-sharing, bringing new programs to fruition sooner and in a more timely manner
