Cleaning out your closets gets $$ for our school Cleaning out your closets gets $$ for our school! The bin is located in the North back parking lot so get your stuff together this weekend and bring it by! Let's fill the bin!!!! Tell your neighbors and friends!

Notes from Nurse Melissa It is that time of year again when we start seeing mosquitos. This also happens to be the best time of year to start fighting those unwanted biters. Things you can do to help: Dump standing water Pick up trash Drain flower pot dishes Dispose of unused tires or drill holes in them Drain and refill dog bowls Unclog gutters Check for leaks in pipes Wipe around the top of flower pots with a bleach wipe   Many people may have experienced “the stomach bug” at least once in their life. People become infected by eating food or drinking liquids that are contaminated. Things you can do to prevent the spread of “the stomach bug”: Wash your hands with soap and water, especially after going to the restroom and changing diapers Wash produce before preparing or eating them Cook seafood thoroughly before eating If you are sick, do not prepare food for others Clean and disinfect contaminated surfaces Wash laundry thoroughly Make sure to wear rubber gloves while handling soiled items and wash your hands after Finally, lice are a nuisance not a health condition. They do not carry disease but they make parents and students very uncomfortable. Things you can do to prevent the spread: Minimize head-to-head contact Teach your kids the importance of not sharing certain items like combs and brushes hair clips and accessories hats and bike helmets scarves and coats towels headsets and earbuds Check for lice often and call health a care provider for instructions regarding treatments Please call the school clinic with any health concerns or questions. By working together we can keep our students healthy and in class. A healthy child is a better student.  Nurse Melissa Clinic 972-429-6408 Melissa.compton@wylieisd.net
