Digital art Term used for a big range of artists that uses technology to create art pieces. Since the 70´s, the digital art has recieved names like: computer art, miltimedia art and new media art. Examples of “computer art”:

Digital production The digital production is commonly used to produce the special effects in the animated or in action movies. Nowadays traditional and digital artists use a lot of technology to create their artworks by programs and electronic sources. Over the las three decades the music has a big influence of electronics to create musical art. Digital can be created using only computer, scanning a photograph or using special softwares. The audio or video that is created with special softwares are part of computer art or information art. Andy Warhol created digital art using the help of Commodore Amiga that was a computer in the Lincoln Center for public. Special effects in movies: Andy Warhol digital art:

Computer generated 3d images 3D images are created using geometric shapes and polygons in computer softwares. 3D images images are used in film, television, simulation games and special visual effects. The technology is a very important aspect because do almost the whole work of creating the art pieces for television and films. 3D images in computer: for simulators

Digital installation art The digital installation consists in combining some art pieces with others using special softwares. Specially used in projections for art shows in auditoriums and special rooms. Are encharged of impressing the audience by creating immersive environments. Digital installations:

Art-technology impact (western digital art) The impact that the digital art has nowadays in the western art is specially focused in the photography, in the TV and in the movies. Also has a big impact in the whole art around the world because has influenced the way to make music because nowadays most of the music is created using technology. This impact around the world made that the “traditional artists” begin to end because with the usage of new softwares that help the artists to create art pieces is easier than the traditional way of painting landscapes and famous people.

Art-technology opinion The joint of these two artistic aspects made a very good unification because helps the new artists to emerge and makes simply the creation of artistic pieces with three- dimensional shapes and installations that makes the spectators be impressed of what is exposed and what artists can make in those special softwares. Also is a good aspect that joint because makes that the special effects in movies and television worked better by making the spectator imagine that what is happening in the movie is kind of real and he gets involved in what is happening in the movie.

Art change with technology The art changed with the technology in a positive way and in a negative way. Possitive way because helps the people to create new and innovated art pieces with concepts that they have worked in and is easier to manage it with the knowledge of technology from people nowadays. Also this causes an impact in the TV and film industry because helps with the creation of the special effects that are very necessary in the action movies because of the sounds that are made while a fight between two people. Negative way because reduces the development of new artists in the “old way” that uses his imagination and skills with the paints for creating art pieces without the help of scanned photographies or computarized softwares.

Daido Moriyama Was born October 10, 1938 in Japan. He is a japanese photographer that makes art with the use of cameras. Before moving to Tokyo in 1961 he studied photography. He had made many art exhibitions around the world and had won 4 awards. He had written a lot of books that contains a lot of his art work during it´s carrier.

Technique He only makes the photographies in black and white to add more “drama” to the photos. He takes photographs with a high contras and takes it from odd angles to have better definition. Also he takes its photos in the darker sides of the cities to make a contrast with the industrialized parts of the cities. Impact the spectators with the contrast of the photos in the galleries. He uses the technology in the galleries; before printing the images he uses a software to make the photos more dramatic and add some contrast with the black and white that underlines what the photos want to express.

Changes in technique He hadn´t changed his technique of art, since he began as an artist, his technique has been the photography because he thinks that is a very good way to make contrasts in the society and to cause an impact around the world by making people conscious of what is happening in the world.

Personal opinion of the artist I think that this is a good artist because I like the way in which he express how the society is living now by making the contrast of the industrialized parts of the cities and the darkest sides of the cities, for example where the gangs live and make groups to steal people in the streets because of their lack of work and lack of incomes. Also I like how he underlines the impact that is causing the inequality that causes the humanitary injustices in the darker sides of the cities for the spectators in the galleries get impressed about how the people live there and how are those tough situations that they are passing through to get a work.

Self evaluation (3rd quarter) My creative process was good, but have some failures in the making of the comic because some time I draw some scenes very simmilar and that makes the comic look without impact to the spectators. But was good because during the quarter I created some situations in the comic that were very interesting and involve the main topic of the WW2. My failures: not finish the comic on time, finish on a bad way the comic, lack of creativity, lack of effort to make the scenes, don´t make the comic with the necessary dedication. Things to improve: take more advantage of the time during the process of creating, have more dedication in the work, use more the creativity to accomplish what the teacher is asking for, that the drawings look different to have a better appearance. Goals for 4 quarter: make a very good personal project during this quarter, take advantage of the time in class, accomplish what the teacher is asking for.
