Basingstoke Charities Gemma Walker

Brief Introduction to Client Basingstoke Charities is a controlling organisation for 28 individual charities dedicated to the provision of ‘gowns, bread and housing for those in need’ The accommodation provided is located at the top of Town Centre (Sir James Deane’s Alehouse's) The charity is run entirely by volunteers The accommodation is over 400 years old

Target Audience This project is aimed at the residents of Basingstoke and anybody who plans to live in Basingstoke I personally think that it would be nice for the people who are lucky enough to be accommodated to explain how much the charity means to them and how grateful they are From visiting the houses I discovered that each individual accommodated was elderly or physically unable Not only is their accommodation at the Top of Town but there is also more accommodation around Basingstoke. The elderly or unable would be the perfect target audience for this product because they’ll be able to get in touch with the charity and possibly accommodated too

Project Ideas Firstly I would like to have a meeting with the charity in order for me to find out more information as to what the charity involves and what they do When making the Promotional video I would like to include things such as: Interviews Footage of accommodation provided for elderly and unable Location shots Names/Titles Company logo watermarked throughout video Information included about Basingstoke Charities Contact Details These ideas will help my target audience relate to the video because they get to see fully what help is out there for them. They will be able to get in contact with Basingstoke Charities for more information, the video will be 60 seconds purely of footage of accommodation and interviews with residents/founders I will also be receiving guidelines from each individual charity themselves as what they would like to be included, this will allow me to finalise my ideas as well as working for a client

Timescale Because my product is for the Mayor of Basingstoke we are on a strict guideline as to when it has to be completed. However the deadline for this project is the 15th July and this doesn’t have to be completed for the Mayor until September. This will allow me time to hand in for my grades but then go back and make it the best it can be for the Mayor. Before starting any of the production, I will arrange meetings with clients in order to plan dates for the filming Once all the meetings have taken place I will begin the Pre Production, I plan to have all of this completed within a week (maximum) Then I will be able to focus all my time on the filming and editing of the final project, once I have a structured film which isn't exactly finished, I plan on sending a rough copy to the Mayor to make sure that the initial ideas have been completed, this will allow me to get feedback from my client and add or delete anything required Like every other unit that I complete, I will leave myself some time before the deadline to go through and make sure all work is complete for the deadline I will be delivering my final project to my client on the 15th September 2014 ready for the Mayor’s Variety Show which takes place in October

What do we know about this appeal? What do we want from you? We want to have a meeting with you to get a better understanding about what your charity involves and what you do We then want to create a promotional video for your charity which will raise awareness

What do we have to offer to you? As QMC level 3 BTEC Media students we want to be able to produce the best video for you to show to the public A high quality video that consists of a variety of camera angles/shots to a professional standard A promotional video allows you to interact with customers to win over their trust as they can see that you're serious about what you do First impression count for a lot and if your audience find your promotional video interesting then that can only boost your image
