Learning Targets: I can identify paradigms that influence how I make choices and spend my time. I can evaluate their impact on me and hypothesize ways to create a more principle centered life.

What’s a “Yay,” something you’re excited about for this year? What’s a “Whoa.” something you’re a bit nervous for this year? What would be different if you only focused on “Yay” or “Whoa” things?

Paradigms Focusing on “Whoa’s” and “Yay’s” is an example of a paradigm. A way of thinking about the world and how we view things. We have lots of different paradigms, and they change as we gain new information. Like right now, we’re going to change our paradigm about how we sort and record information.

Why use Cornell Notes? Short of marking up the book, Cornell Notes provide a way to organize and interact with a text. Cornell Notes do some things really well: Captures the big idea and smaller details of a subject Lets you interact with the text Summary and cues means you spend time only focusing on what you need help with Allows you to more easily organize your notes and what was covered when What’s a class that you think Cornell Notes might be useful for?
