quitting…

“Quitters never win, and Winners never quit.”

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right!”

“When you’re tired of starting over, stop giving up.”

“Age wrinkles the body, quitting wrinkles the soul.”

“Pain is temporary, quitting is forever.”

I quit…

(and I live with the regrets) I quit… (and I live with the regrets)

“Nobody could be expected to keep going under these circumstances.”

“It’s not working” or “it’s taking too long” or “I'm not sure ‘it's’ going to happen for me.”

“It’s not working” or “it’s taking too long” or “I'm not sure ‘it's’ going to happen for me.” (when you are more passionate about the destination than you are about the journey…)

Often times the mountains you must climb when you are sober are almost as challenging as the valleys you must cross when you are not. (“It” is never it!)

“I quit because life is so unfair!”

“I quit because life is so unfair!” (Why should I compete when it isn’t a level playing field?)

You don’t have to quit in order to withdrawal from the competition!

“I should be getting more recognition!”

“I should be getting more recognition!” (If they don’t appreciate your presence, make them appreciate your absence.)

“A great deal of quitting is triggered by shame.”

“A great deal of quitting is triggered by shame.” (Shame corrodes the very part of us that believes we are capable of change.)

20So then, when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat, 21for when you are eating, some of you go ahead with your own private suppers. As a result, one person remains hungry and another gets drunk. ~I Corinthians 11

22Don’t you have homes to eat and drink in 22Don’t you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God by humiliating those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? Certainly not in this matter! ~I Corinthians 11

23For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” ~I Corinthians 11

25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. ~I Corinthians 11

25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. ~I Corinthians 11
