William Taft Served from September 15, 1857-March 8, 1930 only person to have served as both President of the United States and Chief Justice of its Supreme Court.

Taft became a supreme court justice in 1921 Taft became a supreme court justice in 1921. Warren Harding appointed him as chief justice.

Taft established the Tariff board to examine tariff rates Taft established the Tariff board to examine tariff rates.
