Green County Middle and High Schools Marathon of ARCS Dates for spring arcs are scheduled in the fall. In January Annual Review Meetings Form is sent to teachers. Schedule students in GCHS classes then submit to counselor, principal and special education department head. Complete the accommodations/modification form during the meetings. Provide students with the accommodations they need not a blanket. Departmentalize the special education teachers as much as possible at the high school.

Testing Practices at Middle and High Schools Schedule the library for all students with disabilities. Teachers collect student(s), test(s) and go to their assigned locations. Avoid testing students in groups. One-on-one is best practice. Schedule testing rooms in advance with proctors assigned to those rooms. Once the student is finished with the test, take the individual to another location. Students cannot go back to the population who have not completed the assessment.

Testing Practices Continued Try to schedule teachers who possess “buy in”, content knowledge and an understanding of accountability. Emphasize caution when using instructional assistants to provide the testing accommodations. Attached accommodations form to each students test. Use Freshman teachers to provide accommodations to students within their content areas. Use the best teachers! Counselors, principals and the DoSE provide accommodations. Don’t allow students to excuse themselves from the accommodations. Bring alternative school students back to the schools for testing. Select testing administrators who have a relationship with the student.

Testing Practices Continued Meet with students to explain the testing accommodations. Students take possession of testing by selecting time and requesting the proctor. Select a special education teacher to organize the testing event. Teachers should be instructing students throughout the school year on how to request accommodations. When regular education teachers provide accommodations during testing, their understanding of the process improves. Awards/incentives at the high school involve two containers; one for students with disabilities and one for students without disabilities.

Testing Practices Continued MS pair teachers with students during scrimmages, etc. Each test at the MS has a folder with that contains each students accommodations.

Green County Success Academy APEX Students with Disabilities return to GCHS for the ACT and K-PREP testing. End of Course Assessments are administered at the SA.
