The Consequences of Prejudice: Racism & Sexism

As we have discussed, prejudiced attitudes are often based on simplistic stereotypes and can lead to discrimination of particular groups. Two forms of prejudice which are commonplace include racism and sexism. Racial and sexist prejudice still influences society today and is still a real problem in the UK.

Homework Task: Choose either sexism or racism to research at home. Research the different forms of sexism/racism that can be experienced and write a paragraph about what you learn. Find one research study related to your chosen topic and summarise the study/findings. Find one recent (last 12 months) news article/report which discusses your chosen topic. Summarise this article.
