UNAGB Tem Member: Say: there is one more motion that we need to do in order to end the simulation. Are there any motions at this time? Prompt students to make a motion to adjourn. Ask, are there seconds. Name the second. All those in favor (count). All those opposed (count).   No matter the numbers bang the gavel and tell the students that that the simulation is ended and that they should give themselves a round of applause.

Parliamentary Procedure Roll Call Speakers List Opening Speeches Moderated Caucus Unmoderated Caucus Motion to Adjourn Chair Gavel Delegate In favor Opposed Motion UNAGB Team member bangs gavel and sits down to begin the committee session. Roll Call: Say: We will begin with a roll call. All delegations that are here, say present. Call each name. If any student does not raise their placard horizontally or say present in an audible voice, ask them to do it again (and coach them on what to change). Speakers List: Say: We will now open the speakers list. All those countries who would like to give an opening speech, please raise your placard at this time. Record countries on wipe board/chart paper. Opening Speeches: Remind students that they should take notes during the opening speeches. This is because on the day of the real simulation there will be over 20 countries presenting so they will need to keep track of what was said by the first country, otherwise they will forget what the first country said. Show students how to take notes in section 1 on the worksheet by writing the country that speaks, listening for their priority and writing down any additional information that is important to know about that delegation’s perspective. Teacher should help reinforce this process and circulate during opening speeches to help make sure that students are taking notes. After 3-4 speeches, students inform students that the time for an opening speeches is over. Let them know that during the real simulation, all students will be able to give their opening speech.
