People To People International 33rd European Conference Yerevan, Armenia September 7 -10, 2017

Parliamentary Procedure A set of rules for conduct at a meeting that allows everyone to be heard and to make decisions without confusion. A parliamentarian is appointed at the meeting to make sure that we all follow procedure. Please feel free to raise your hand and ask – whenever you feel that your voice was not heard or when you do not understand (procedure or due to language issues)

Parliamentary Procedure cont. Motions All members can ask to make a motion(suggestion). Second motions If you agree with the one making the motion – you ”second the motion”. If there is no second to your motion – the motion is lost. Debate motions Open for discussions Vote on motions When discussed – we vote

Parliamentary Procedure cont. Parliamentary procedure will only work if used properly. That is why it is important to: Allow motions that are in order Have members obtain the floor properly Speak clearly, slowly and concisely Obey the rules of debate Be COURTEOUS! We are here to have fun and make great decisions for the good of the organisation
