Objective 6.01: Cover Letters & Follow-up Letters Career Management Objective 6.01: Cover Letters & Follow-up Letters

Cover Letters Cover letters are letters of introduction. Cover letters work in combination with your resume and other documents in the application and give an indication of your qualifications and experience in relation to the position. Your cover letter is usually the first point of interaction between you and the prospective employer, which is why it is essential that cover letters are written with careful consideration.

Example of a Cover Letter

Follow-up Letter The cover letter is the most common business letter. The cover letter is used to express your interest in a position. However, in order to maximize the potential of obtaining an interview, it is advisable to use a follow up letter to your cover letter.
