Find a colleague you haven’t spoken with yet today Impromptu Networking Find a colleague you haven’t spoken with yet today Guiding Question: What is one practice or learning from EL Achieve that is really “working” in your classroom or campus? Why do you think this practice is taking root more than others that may be available? 2 minutes each (2 rounds)

We are working in an Instructional Ecosystem AIMs and IPs EL Achieve STEP Student Achievement (Growth and Equity)

STEP in a Nutshell STEP is a teacher-led and teacher-driven, wholly voluntary professional development program. It is organic and non-hierarchical. Ideas flow from the bottom up, rather than being imposed on teachers from the top down. STEP aims to give teachers support and space to effectively capture, evaluate, and implement better systems, promising practices, and evaluation protocols. It is not intended to be prescriptive. It is flexible. It is collaborative. It is continually evolving.

STEP In Los Angeles This YEAR Year-long professional learning community Weekly meetings, facilitated by coaches 2 teams, ELA and Math/Science Aim to test with data and share ELD best practices across Aspire Guiding Question: What instructional practices, school and classroom conditions, and professional collaboration structures drive measurable and sustained academic growth for our EL students? More succinctly, what EL Achieve practices really “work” for Aspire students and teachers?

Introduction to Positive Deviance Read article, “When Deviants Do Good” As you read, please mark 2 sections (first choice and backup) that resonate or make you ask a question. Be prepared to share in a trios.
