Mittwoch Wednesday Middle of the week-literally Named after the Germanic god Wotan. Also went by the name Óỗdinn. Known as Wotan the Wanderer. Controls half of the afterlife along with Freyja. Wisdom and war are some of the things attributed to him.

Donnerstag Thursday Day of Thunder Named after the god Thor. God of thunder, lightning, strength, destruction, fertility, healing. The protector of mankind.

Freitag Friday Literally means Free Day. Attributed to the goddess Frigga, Freyja. Goddess of love, and all that goes with it. Controls the rest of the afterlife that Odin does not.

Samstag Saturday Also known as the day of Saturn. Washing day for Germans. No relation to an actual God, although some adopted the Greek God Cronus, and called it Day of Cronus. After 7 PM it can also be known as “Sonnabend.”
