UNGEI Code of Practice

We have set in place a strong mechanism in the form of GAC How can we now best use this mechanism to influence greatest change on behalf of girls?

At international level, GAC has supported the integration of gender equality into the governing documents of FTI The challenge for GAC is how it can promote and support partnerships at all levels and ensure that these operate effectively in relation to girls

What does it mean to be an UNGEI partner? What standards are we asking partners to sign up to?

A Code of good Practice: That builds on our bank of experience That capitalises on our influence That sets high standards for partnerships in relation to girls

A Code of good Practice: A tool to guide collaborative work A tool to hold each other to account A tool to build wide commitment to principles and practices

Examples of what the CoP would address: Putting girls at the centre: Protection of girls Communications Transparency and accountability

Examples of what the CoP would address: Role of UNGEI GAC: To set high standards To play the role of watchdog To hold each other to account

Why CAMFED? Consistently invested in UNGEI Involved from the outset Current position as co Chair This is what we are all about – promoting best practice in relation to girls Can relate this to current work

UNGEI: setting high standards in relation to girls
