Mrs. Castellano Library Book Weekly Objectives Spelling Words Week 4 – August 21, 2016 Issue #1- 1st 9 Weeks Mrs. Castellano Library Book Weekly Objectives Read any at bedtime every day or read online books: storyline online, etc. Monday– Read your fluency folder for one minute. Pages: 9, 10, 11 (time for one minute); Write spelling words three times each. Math: p. Week 4. Bring homework to school everyday. Tuesday– Read your fluency folder for one minute. Pages: 9, 10, 11 (time for one minute). Math: p. Week 4. Write spelling words in ABC order. Wednesday- Read your fluency folder for one minute. Pages: 9, 10, 11 (time for one minute); Math: p. Week 4. Write a sentence for all spelling words. Thursday- Read your fluency folder for one minute. Pages: 9, 10, 11 (time for one minute); Math: p. Week 4. Ask parents to give you a practice spelling test. Friday-Tests on story of the week, spelling words, vocabulary words . I will send the tests on Friday. Please sign and return them. If you don’t get them, please write me a note in the agenda. Language Arts – Fiction & Non fiction, characters, setting, plot, Problem and solution, nouns, author’s purpose. Math-Add/Sub with 3 digits. Science – Matter: Changes in Heat. Social Studies – Functions of the Government. Spelling Words Long Aa sound-the vowel says its name Maze, shape, grade, skate, chase, take, shade, mistake, tale, save Vocabulary Words Story: Family Farm Then and Now Homework will be checked every morning in class. Bell rings at 7:30a.m. Thank you for being on time. Breakfast ends at 7:45. Let’s Make It Count! Let’s have 100% Perfect Attendance. We will win the Perfect Attendance Party and treats! Thank you for taking your child to the doctor after 10am OR taking to the doctor in the morning and returning students to school before 10am. They will not be counted absent. Istation testing begins this week. Early Release: Wed., August 30, 2017 at 11:25am. Afterschool pick up: We dismiss exactly at 3:10pm. Conference Time: 12:55 to 1:20pm. Please write me a note in the agenda if you would like to schedule an appointment. I will call you or send you an appointment date/time. During this time I am at trainings, meetings, and conferences.  Please sign agendas every day. This is how I will be communicating with you on a daily basis. Your child will need all your support in helping him/her become an excellent reader. I look forward to working with all of you. If you should have any questions throughout the year I will be delighted to schedule an appointment and answer any questions. Thank you for your kind support! Harvest: means to gather up or pick ripe fruits and vegetables. Crops: crops are plants that farmers grow. Regrow: means to grow again. Machines: are big tools that helps us do our jobs faster and better. Irrigate: means to use streams or rivers and pipes to bring water to the crops.
