Workshop   ''East Siberian Shelf: observations, data analysis, modelling efforts", LenaDNM project, summary 7-9 of Dec, 2016

Lena DNM project, last stage The development of Numerical Modules for the Lena Delta region Main goal: Lena River estuary zone model, which consists complex set of numerical modules Motivation: We need high quality input data about Lena River discharge characteristics for the Laptev Sea shelf and larger scale models and deeper understanding of the processes in the delta 4 workshops (2 in Russia (in 2015), 2 in Germany (in 2016)), scientific trips, guest scientists, time frame: 01.11.2014 – 31.12.2016 Summary of goals: Bring together the researchers dealing with the Lena Delta region, and combine the available observational databases Develop numerical modules for the Lena Delta region which will provide the input information for the larger-scale regional models of the Laptev Sea shelf. The set will include hydrodynamics, transport of organic and inorganic matters and ecosystem dynamics modules Implement hydrodynamics and transport modules in the existing regional models of the Laptev Sea Bridge the gap between ecosystem in the Lena Delta and on the Laptev Sea shelf Analyze the dynamics of processes in the Lena Delta on a new interdisciplinary level Estuaries Shelf Arctic Ocean 2
