CONTENT introduction Division Triassic period Jurassic period Cretaceous period

INTRODUCTION Mesozoic means “Middle animals”. Dinosaurs which are perhaps the most popular organisms of mesozoic era . Began approximately 245 million years ago. Ended about 66 million years ago with a major mass extinction. Dinosours extinct at the end of cretaceous

Mesozoic era is subdivided into 3 periods: mesozoic era DIVISION Mesozoic era is subdivided into 3 periods: mesozoic era Triassic period Jurracic period Cretaceous period

TRIASSIC period The triassic period 245 – 206 million years ago. Immediately after the permian mass extintion. Lots of new area is open for animals to live. Three general types of animals. holds overs from before the extinton . new groups that lasted only a short time. new groups that lasted a long time.

JURRACIC PERIODS The jurracic period 206 -144 million years ago. Gaint plant – eating dinosours Vicious carnivore dinosours Oceans full of fish, sduid, sharks, etc. Ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs Pterosaurs Birds

CRETACEOUS PERIOD The last period when dinosaurs lived Ends with a mass extintion around 66 million years ago. First flowering plants

conclusion Mesozoic era Witnesses gradual rifting of pangaea. Climate varied from hot and humid to cold one. Evolution, dominance and extintion of non – avian dinosaurs. Appearencce of first bird. Appearence of mammals.
