Sheep Shearing 2015

Did EWE know? Sheep are AMAZING! Wool Lanolin Lambs Meat Friendship

Wool is Amazing: Very high ignition temperature – Over 1,000 degrees F!!! Naturally high nitrogen and water content. Because of this, wool requires higher levels of oxygen in the surrounding environment in order to burn. A low heat of combustion – the measure of the amount of heat energy released in the burning process Does not melt or stick (just crumbles) Self-extinguishing From: International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO)

Ways you can use wool:

Why Shear? 2 to 12 lb/yr

Why not?

Poor management can be fixed…

…with good management!

The ONLY difference

Sheep Shearing Last Weekend

Martin sheared 74 sheep on Saturday & 47 on Sunday morning!
