Presentation transcript:

Guidepost #3 The Moment Before Every scene you will ever act begins in the middle, and it is up to you, the actor, to provide what comes before.

Guidepost #3 The Moment Before NEVER does an actor need the moment before more desperately than in the audition situation.

Guidepost #3 The Moment Before A good actor doesn’t come on stage and wait to get going, s/he comes on emotionally charged from a well-developed moment before.

Guidepost #3 The Moment Before What are you fighting for in the relationship in the scene you are doing, and exactly where are your feelings at this specific moment before?

Guidepost #3 The Moment Before The moment before requires an important emotional commitment from the actor. Not his mind, in acting the mind is only useful if it guides a person to his feelings.

Guidepost #3 The Moment Before It’s not enough to THINK about what the moment before should be; one has to seep oneself in it, drown in it, be overcome by it!

Guidepost #3 The Moment Before Underneath every human being’s rational cool exterior is passion.
