BELLWORK: April 11th List four ways Germany was punished under the Treaty of Versailles. Which two countries were not allowed to participate in the Paris Peace Conference? Why? What type of government do you think the Allied powers want established in Germany? Why? Define totalitarianism. The German Weimar Republic As you know, post-WWI a provisional government is established in Germany. What is the purpose of a provisional government? Eventually Germany will implement a republic, or a representative-type democracy Unfortunately, this republic becomes ineffective and 14 years after WWI it collapses. This makes way for Hitler and his totalitarian government ….. Nazism
