Starter On page 17 in your sketchbooks answer the following questions. Have you ever drawn a self-portrait? What is your number one concern about drawing a self-portrait? Take a selfie in class now and sketch it in your book (try).

Printmaking Self-portraits

Agenda Go over what we did last time. Demonstration and take notes on how to draw a self-portrait. Take a selfie and send it to Mrs. Francesconi so we can begin our project next time.

Last Time We got right to work on our stencil tags. Many people began painting them last time, but most will finish today. If you got done early you worked on past assignments.

Self-portraits How to draw a self-portrait correctly.

Step 1 Draw an oval into your sketchbook and divide it in half both ways.

Step 2 Divide from the center down in half draw a line. Divide from the new line to the bottom of the oval in half, draw a line.

How to take a selfie portrait for this project. Must have an expressive face Must be close up on the face background should be almost impossible to see. Must be of your face. High contrast black and white helps.

Studio time Step 1: Finish your stencil that is due at the end of class today. Step 2: Print at least 3 copies of your stencil using spray paint. Step 3: Once done fill out rubric and reflection on your stencil. Step 4: Take your selfie picture and e-mail it to francesconip@ogdensd.org Step 5: While waiting for your images to be printed you will draw your selfie portrait using the techniques we just discussed.
